For the bargain hunters out there, the markets are a great way to spend a morning, especially if itīs a bit cloudy. Many tour operators offer organized trips, or, you can make your own way. Get there early as many stalls start packing up at about 1.30 pm. BEWARE of pickpockets, do not put your wallet in your back pocket and donīt put valuables in a rucksack behind you. Too tempting!

MONDAY Salou, Reus
TUESDAY Tarragona, Torredembarra
WEDNESDAY Cambrils, Valls
THURSDAY Tarragona, Vila seca
FRIDAY La Pineda
SATURDAY Reus, Torreforta, Valls
SUNDAY Bonavista, Hospitalet

Nearest is Salou market. Itīs located in the old town just off Calle Barcelona. From Placa Europa, itīs a good 20 minute walk, or a very short taxi ride. Cambrils market is in the old town of Cambrils. You could get a bus to the port, then take a short taxi ride to the market. La Pineda is just a short bus ride or taxi journey away, the buses are very frequent and this market is well worth a look, take time to enjoy La Pinedaīs relaxed atmosphere. Probably the largest market is Sundayīs Bonavista market. There is a bus there and back, but they are not very frequent, check with the Tourist Office, as times vary. There is a lot of repetition, with many stalls selling the same things. The fruit and veg section is huge and some things really cheap. You can haggle with some of the African type leather stalls, but most of the Spanish stalls have fixed prices. It is an outdoor market, therefore a bit miserable in the rain. Happy hunting!
